In a little more than two weeks I will be going to a retreat in Conyers, GA, just outside of Atlanta. This means I will be driving in the 42 laned Atlanta traffic on I-85 and I-285. Anyone have words of wisdom for someone who rarely drives on roads with more than two lanes?
My fears:
Other drivers
road hazards
lost and alone

Depending on where you're coming from and the time of day, will determine your traffic experience.
Few suggestions:
-don't travel I75/85 during peak times (6-9 am and 4-7 pm)
-travel to atlanta on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon when volume is low.
-carry a blanket and snacks incase you happen to get stuck in a bottleneck or traffic incident miles ahead
-Check out Georgia Navigator
-If driving alone stay close to Conyers where traffic is pretty smooth
-Also if your coming south of atlanta (e.g. from Florida) then disrard the above because Conyers is approx 25 miles SE of downtown Atlanta
Enjoy your stay! You must visit the GA Aquarim during your stay.
Um, so can I assume that since you haven't blogged since "atlanta or bust" that "bust" was the outcome?
Actually, Atlanta all the way around 285 (the perimeter by-pass) was the outcome and an incredible retreat at the monastery...more is to come as I am gathering my thoughts to post soon. I've already got 3 pages of thoughts. I am anxious to "download" the experience. Thanks for being interested and asking...it encourages me to share! Also, thanks for your kind comments concerning Morgan, and I want to share with you that I am sorry for the passing of your father in law -it seems like he was someone to be admired and appreciated.
